Booking Terms

Booking Terms

Please read these terms before asking us to arrange flights, hotels, cruises, tours or other travel services on your behalf.

Trip R The World acts as a travel agency and intermediary. Your booking may also be subject to supplier terms, fare rules and cancellation policies that apply to the selected travel product.

1. Our role as travel agent or intermediary

Unless we expressly state otherwise in writing, we act as a travel agent or intermediary for independent travel suppliers. Those suppliers may include airlines, accommodation providers, cruise lines, tour operators, transfer providers, activity operators, insurers and visa or documentation service providers.

We are responsible for providing our agency services with due care and skill. The travel services themselves are usually supplied by the relevant supplier, and the supplier's terms, fare rules, operating rules and conditions of carriage may also apply to your booking.

2. Quotes, deposits and balance payments

A quote is not a confirmed booking until the supplier confirms availability, we confirm the payable amount in writing, and any required payment has been received and cleared.

Some bookings require a deposit. The deposit amount, balance due date, payment method, payment surcharge and any customer-facing agency fee will be disclosed before payment where they apply.

Subject to the Australian Consumer Law, failure to pay the balance by [balance due date] or by any supplier deadline may result in cancellation, loss of availability, price changes, supplier fees or forfeiture of amounts already paid.

3. Changes, cancellations and refunds

If you ask to change or cancel a booking, you must notify us in writing as soon as possible. We will then check the supplier's rules and advise the available options.

Subject to the Australian Consumer Law, cancellations and changes may attract supplier fees, fare differences, non-refundable supplier charges, payment fees and our disclosed amendment or cancellation processing fees.

If a supplier cancels, delays or materially changes a service, we will assist you to seek the remedy made available by that supplier. Where the Australian Consumer Law gives you a right to a refund, replacement service or other remedy, those rights are not excluded by these terms.

4. Travel documents, visas and insurance

You are responsible for ensuring each traveller has a valid passport, visa, electronic travel authority, transit permission, health document and any other document required for the full itinerary.

You should obtain comprehensive travel insurance as soon as you book. The policy should be suitable for your destinations, activities, medical history, cancellation risk, baggage, delays, cruise travel if relevant and disruptions outside supplier control.

Any general information we provide about passports, visas, insurance, health or entry rules is not legal, migration, medical, government or personal financial advice.

5. Travel advice and external events

Before booking and before departure, you should check the Australian Government's Smartraveller advice for each destination and transit point. You should also check supplier, airline, cruise line, destination government and border authority updates.

Weather, strikes, public health events, safety issues, border rules, government action, flight disruptions, port changes, supplier operational issues and other events outside our control may affect your travel.

We will assist with communication and practical options where possible, but we cannot guarantee a supplier's decision, timetable, refund position, replacement service or operating outcome.

6. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Booking Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, remedy or protection that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law.

Any reference to non-refundable amounts, cancellation fees, service fees, supplier fees, limitation of liability or forfeiture applies only to the extent permitted by law.
